French Musical Masterpieces

Stephen Buzard, one of America's most promising young organists, is a graduate student at Yale University, where he studies with Thomas Murray and Jeffrey Brillhart (Director of Music and Fine Arts at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church). Though in his early 20's, he has already concertized throughout America and England.

This concert celebrates the ravishing music of Parisian organist, Maurice Duruflé. Duruflé's entire compositional output for the organ takes only about 70 minutes to perform, but each work is a perfect masterpiece. They might be described as a fusion of late Impressionism with the beauty of Gregorian chant inspired music.

The concert takes place at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, the home of a magnificent French style pipe organ, designed to be especially well suited to the works of Duruflé!
