An Egg-cellent Way To Eat Local Eggs: Raising your Own Chickens

Audience: Adults and Young Adults

Registration: Members $10 per person/Non-Members $20 per person

Join us for a discussion about keeping chickens/laying hens in Lower Merion Township.  We will review the rules associated with keeping chickens in the township and Christina Fink, a local backyard chicken keeper, will discuss the “how to’s” of getting started. Housing, feeding, cleaning, health maintenance and predator management will all be covered in this third installment of the Conservancy’s “Homstead Series.” After learning the basics, Fink will discuss the different types of chickens, where to acquire them, and where to get the supplies you’ll need to keep your chickens happy and healthy!
