In this animated feature set in the dystopian world of Neo-Tokyo, an outcast teenage biker develops supernatural powers and retaliates against corrupt authorities, but risks losing a part of himself. Visceral imagery and dark themes replete with adolescent angst make this film a cult classic and widely recognized as a landmark of Japanese anime.

William Gardner, associate professor of Japanese at Swarthmore College, and students from Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore Colleges will lead a discussion after the film.
