Viewfinder: Lighting the Tree and Menorah in Gladwyne

Holiday symbols are aglow on the firehouse lawn.

The second annual Christmas tree and Menorah lighting drew a larger than expected crowd to the on Sunday evening.

Adults and children were treated to cookies and holiday fare supplied by the and cider provided by the . There was a table full of toys for the kids as well as pint-sized fire helmets.

People gathered inside and then headed outdoors for the lighting ceremony. After that, everyone went back inside to join in singing Christmas carols.

The event was co-sponsored by the Gladwyne Civic Association and the the Gladwyne Fire Co. Civic Association Vice President Bob Foulk, Jr. remarked that the attendance had increased substantially over last year, and that the event will be repeated annually.
