Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect for Montgomery County

The watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Montgomery and surrounding counties until 9 p.m. Tuesday.

There is a 40 percent chance of scattered rain and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 p.m., according to an NWS forecast for Bryn Mawr.

Some of the storms could bring with them hail, gusty winds, heavy rain and lightning, the forecast states. The rest of the evening is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high of 81 degrees.

Delaware, Philadelphia and Chester counties are also included in the thunderstorm watch.
