Most Power Outages Resolved in Lower Merion After Storm

PECO had more than 22,000 customers still offline at 9 a.m., a Lower Merion official said.

After the ill effects the power grid suffered in the snow and ice and slush of Saturday, by Monday morning outages were reduced in Lower Merion, officials said.

PECO notified Lower Merion that as of 9 a.m. it had 118 township customers without power, out of more than 22,000 powerless customers systemwide,  spokeswoman Brenda Viola said.

PECO officials told Philadelphia Business Journal that with a peak of more than 250,000 outages, the storm was the worst October disruption in service in the utility's history.
