Lancaster Avenue Slushy But Speeds Near Normal

More than 4 inches of snow fell, according to the National Weather Service.

Roads in Lower Merion were all snowy or slushy Tuesday morning; the major roads were just a little less so.

Montgomery Avenue was consistently snow-covered through Ardmore and Bala Cynwyd. Slush in some areas had frozen into a gritty substance.

Lancaster Avenue was a bit better, but seemed clearer eastbound than westbound in Haverford and Bryn Mawr.

City Avenue's lanes were relatively clear except for a few brown rivulets here and there. Many intersection centers, however, were full of chunky slush about 7 a.m.

Temperatures were in the low 20s, with Tuesday's high forecast at about 32, with some sun, according to the National Weather Service. Tuesday night's low should be about 16.

No Lower Merion snow spotters have filed reports with the NWS, but about 4.5 inches were measured at Philadelphia International Airport by 1 a.m. and about 4.3 inches in King of Prussia at 6 a.m.

The next precipitation forecast is rain Thursday afternoon.
