Boat Ramp Reopens at Flat Rock Park

A boat trailer sank in the Schuylkill Tuesday morning.

Crews have retrieved the sunken boat trailer at the boat ramp, allowing it to reopen after three days of being closed for safety reasons, Lower Merion Township spokeswoman Brenda Viola announced in an e-mail Friday morning.

The trailer became unhinged from its vehicle Tuesday morning and submerged in the rain-swollen Schuylkill.

The ramp is now open during its normal hours of dawn to 9 p.m. Users must have a $25 boat-launch permit from the township. More information is available at the park's page on the township Web site.
