About 1,700 people attended, according to a story by the Catholic News Service. The Archdiocese and local news stations also offered live streaming of the Mass on their respective websites.

Chaput replaces Cardinal Justin Rigali, who resigned months after a new chapter  in the long story of the sexual abuse scandal that has rocked the Church.
