Unabashedly romantic and serving classic Italian cuisine, La Collina is a special occasion destination for adults. Don't miss the cozze alla marinara (mussels marinara). .

Tavern on the Hill: 8636 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118

If a quick, inexpensive lunch is what you seek, head to this local pizza shop. Calzones, pan pizza and Italian specialities are available in addition to the regular slices. .

Fantastic sandwiches, smoked fishes galore and some of the friendliest service I have encountered in the area. The lox and bagel plate looks as good as it tastes. .

Offering one of the most extensive kids' menus I have seen, this mainstay of Manayunk's Main Street continues to produce good food at brunch, lunch and dinner and is my go-to for a burger when I am in the area.  .

This diner is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but the most amazing thing I found was the beer selection (more than 200 varieties from all parts of the world). To read more about the man behind the menu, .
