Narberth's Maido is Ardmore Bound

The Japanese grocery store will move to Lancaster Avenue in the fall.

Goodbye Narberth, hello Ardmore.

After a decade at its 36 N. Narberth Avenue location, Japanese grocery store Maido will move to 3-5 Lancaster Avenue this fall.

According to Philly.com, a precise opening date hasn't been set, but Maido's owners expect the Ardmore store to be ready to go in October or November.

Pat Dailey, who along with wife Seiko owns and operates the store, told the Main Line Media News that the new store is about 40 percent larger than the old one and added that Ardmore is, in his view, an idea location.

“So many families [from the Japanese School] live out in Gladwyne and Bryn Mawr. It’s on their way,” he said.
