Earlier Stints: Roth started off as a flower delivery guy at Alvin's Flowers in Broomall and started designing flowers at a bouquet shop in Bryn Mawr. He then went back to Broomall and worked at Lori's Flower Basket. "The owner at Lori's told me about this vacant spot open in Bryn Mawr and said that at the time there was only one flower shop in Bryn Mawr, so I took that chance," said Roth.

For Sanborn, she started working at a local flower shop merely as an after-school gig. When she went to college, she stayed with the flower shop and decided to work at Bryn Mawr Flower Shop instead of teaching.

Favorite Flower Arrangements to Make: Both Roth and Sanborn said the "garden-style" arrangements are their favorites—"lush and filled with flowers."

Least Favorite Flower Arrangements to Make: Roth—"I don't have one I don't like making. They're all fun to make." Sanborn—"Funeral designs. I like doing small, detailed work more than big showy pieces."

What do you like about the area?

"The best thing is the people. The people like and appreciate flowers here," said Roth.

"The loyalty," said Sanborn. "We've had people come in and tell all their friends about us throughout the years."

Plug: This long-standing florist has been named the "Best of the Main Line" many times. They also sell little gifts besides flowers.
