Amtrak Doing Track Maintenance in Bryn Mawr

Some of the work will take place at night and could be noisy.

The following was provided to Patch:

Amtrak has announced that it will be performing railroad track maintenance in Bryn Mawr over two four-day periods over the next two weekends.

The first, weather permitting, is from Thursday, Jan. 16 through Sunday, Jan. 19. The work will take place at Montgomery Avenue and W. Lancaster Avenue, near Morris Road and Bryn Mawr College, and involves replacing switches along tracks – requiring some work to be performed during nighttime hours. This work will begin Thursday night at approximately 8 p.m. and continue into the morning hours.

The work on Thursday night should be minimal, Amtrak reports, with the majority of the night work scheduled to be performed on Friday night. There will be daylight work ongoing throughout Saturday and Sunday.

The work is scheduled to continue during the same period the following week – again, weather permitting – from Thursday, Jan. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 26.
