Local Iron Order Motorcycle Club Chapter Raises Money, Collects Needed Clothing Items for Area Children In-Need Served by Cradles to Crayons

Officers of the Death Grip chapter of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club at her side, Cradles to Crayons Executive Director Michal Smith happily accepts funds collected by the group as part of its charity ride Saturday. At left is Death Grip vice president Irish; at right, chapter president Iron Wrench. The group also donated new children’s socks and underwear for the local nonprofit, which provides children, 0 – 12, living in homeless or low-income situations in the Greater Philadelphia area with clothing, footwear, toys, books, school supplies and other everyday essentials.

More than 60 members of the group, along with members of its women's support group, the Iron Order Maidens, and a number of visiting bikers, some from as far away as Virginia and Massachusetts, took part in the ride from King of Prussia to West Conshohocken.

“We do it for the kids,” Iron Wrench, said. “This is not the crew’s first trip to Cradles to Crayons. We learned about them when we were looking for a charity to support last Christmas.”  When the club members came to the warehouse to bring the donations collected from its holiday drive, “we were so impressed with the work they do for children in need,” he said, “that we committed to come back and volunteer.” Which it did, this past Saturday.
