Harcum’s Final Four Run Caps Record-Setting Season

-Three Players Receive National Tournament Honors- The 2013-14 men's basketball season has been one for the record books at Harcum. The Bears capped off their stellar regular season by advancing to the NJCAA Division I National Semifinals in Hutchinson, Kansas, marking the first final four appearance in school history. When it was all said and done, Harcum finished with a school-record 32 wins and rewrote both team and individual school records.

Award winners at the National Tournament included Jordan Goodman and Ivan Uceda, who both were named to the all-tournament team. Ibn Muhammad won the very prestigious Sesher Sportsmanship Award, given to the player who demonstrates the best sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

"It was an amazing season," said Harcum head coach Drew Kelly. "Our trip to Hutchinson was a incredible experience and something our student-athletes will remember for the rest of their lives. This team had great chemistry, great trust in each other, and that led to exceptional play on the court. It's always ironic to me how putting your teammates and the team first leads to outstanding individual success."

In addition to the school record 32 wins, Harcum's players shattered numerous school statistical records. Ivan Uceda became the school's all-time rebound leader, while Shevon Thompson broke the single season rebounding record. Ibn Muhammad ended his career as Harcum's all-time assist leader, while Timmone Whatley broke the single season assist record. Jordan Goodman finished off his career as just the 3rd men's basketball player to surpass 1,000 career points. Harcum also set new team records for field goal percentage, three point field goal percentage, and free throw percentage.

Harcum's finish of 4th in the final NJCAA Division I men's basketball poll marks the second time in five seasons that the Bears have finished in top 5 nationally. Harcum recorded its second 30-win season and ninth consecutive 20-win season, as Harcum has now won at least 20 games in every season since starting men's basketball in 2005-06. Harcum's all-time record is 225-58 in nine seasons.
