The 11th Annual Softball Tournament and Family Fun day to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation occurred on August 24, 2013 at South Ardmore Park in Wynnewood, PA. Six Harcum College Student Nursing Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) members volunteered as First Aid providers with Jennifer Davis, Director of Medical Assisting, who ran the First Aid team for the event.
This opportunity allowed SNAP students to volunteer as first aid help and collaborate with other healthcare professionals volunteering. Throughout the day first aid volunteers helped maintain the safety and provide first aid to all attending and participating in the day’s activities. SNAP students additionally had the chance to work alongside other health care professionals while learning about the different fields available in nursing as well as gaining helpful tips for continuing education in nursing.
SNAP members appreciated the support from Jennifer T. Davis, Director of Medical Assisting; Joyce Welliver, Nursing Program Director; and Joanne Patterson, Administrative Assistant to the nursing department, for their support in providing this experience.
To date this event has raised over $21,000 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
