A film and discussion to explore family communication, dynamics and lessons for contemporaty parenting. The movie is based on the semi-autobiographical novel by Pat Conroy (The Prince of Tides) and features Robert Duvall's Oscar-nominated turn as an arrogant and combative Marine whos high-flying ways lead to conflict with his wife, played by Blythe Danner, and son, played by Michael O'Keefe (1979, USA, rated PG). The Bryn Mawr Film Institute is located on West Lancaster Avenue, next to Milkboy Coffee. It is a non-profit community theater, founded in 2002, that shows independent and documentary films. It is within walking distance to several restaurants, parking lots and various stores.
