Merion Concert Band To Present Winter Concert
Come with the Merion Concert Band on a trip around the world. We begin our journey in Spain with the fiery pasodoble Amparito Roca and then travel to Ireland and Scotland to experience Gaelforce, adapted from traditional British brass band music. Our featured soloist, Tony Wastler, takes us to Germany to experience the ever popular Weber clarinet Concertino and while there the band plays March from Paul Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber. The second half features our loveable trombone section with David Rose’s Holiday for Trombones. We stop back in Scotland to take in the gorgeous Ye Banks and Braes O’ Bonnie Doon and then bring you home to the good ol’ USA with Robert Jager’s quirky Third Suite and the music of the immortal John Philip Sousa. Get your passports ready, it’s going to be a fun ride.
The concert at Harriton High School is free and open to the public. There is ample parking and the facility is wheelchair accessible.
