'Signs By Tomorrow' Trades Bryn Mawr for Ardmore

The signage company celebrated its move with a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday.

Signs By Tomorrow of Ardmore, a local signage and graphics company owned by the husband and wife team of Dave and Danielle Friedenberg, celebrated its move to 130 E. Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore with an open-house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday. The company was previously located at 832 W. Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr. According to Mrs. Friedenberg, who acquired the 15-year-old, family-owned business in 2010 with her husband, the move allows Signs By Tomorrow to continue its robust growth. “The new space allows us to add equipment and staff so we can continue to provide personal attention while serving as a full-service, one-stop resource to meet all of our clients’ visual communications needs.” Coincident with the move, Signs By …

Zoes Kitchen Opens in Bryn Mawr Next Week

The Bryn Mawr Square restaurant boasts Mediterranean-cuisine with a southern twist.

Zoes Kitchen is coming to Bryn Mawr. On May 23, the increasingly popular Alabama-based franchise will open its 87th restaurant at 761 W. Lancaster Ave. The restaurant, located in the former Bryn Mawr Square home of TLA Video, will celebrate its grand opening by giving away 500 free meals its first week in business, according to general manager Imani McKenzie. "We’ll be going around to different businesses and giving away freebies," McKenizie said, adding that customers can also visit Zoes' Facebook page to apply to win the coupons. Retail is the thing on Lancaster Avenue, but a big opening is begging to be filled.

The store front at 58 East Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore was the longtime home of Jacques Ferber Furs, which decamped for Wayne in January. Now the space sits empty and unused. The building is a blot on the Ardmore historic commercial district. It should be removed and an appropriate three story mixed use building with apartments on the second two floors and retail space at street level. Parking is indeed an issue, which it wouldn't be if the Township would put structured parking on the Bernicker Lot to the east of the Township Building.   more ›
