What Should Replace BRGR Joint?

The Bryn Mawr restaurant is apparently closed after about three years of business.

Patch wants to hear from residents of Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne and beyond: What should fill the retail vacancies of your neighborhood streets?

Today, we're spotlighting the former home of The BRGR Joint, which recently closed at 1011 W. Lancaster Ave. in Bryn Mawr.

The restaurant opened in the fall of 2009, according to its website. Property records show the building was erected in 1920.

Signs in the front window indicate that anyone who wants to lease the "fully equipped restaurant" space should call 484-904-2785. (A call to the restaurant's regular phone number Thursday afternoon reached a message that the line was disconnected.)

So tell us in the comments section below: What kind of business would you be most likely to frequent if it moved in? And what other vacancies in town do you have ideas about filling?

A really good restaurant. Jules Thin Pizza is Doylestown just opened a new place in Wayne. Heatthy plus gluten free option.

I'd love to see a real, honest to goodness deli. Sort of like Lenny's Italian Deli in Conshohocken.

Nothing like a pawn shop, dollar store, Western Union, or Cash4Gold place to class up the area!

How about something other than a restaurant? Don't you think Bryn Mawr has enough of them and hair/nail salons? Maybe a gift shop or a small thrift shop. How about a bakery?

I'm getting so frustrated that these great places can't stay open in Bryn Mawr. Loved BRGR and I almost wrecked my car when I saw the lease sign yesterday. "Fully equipped restaurant" is a bit of a stretch though. They basically just had a grill back there, so I don't know what type restaurant would be able to take advantage of it other than... another burger place? I'm always wishing Bryn Mawr had a breakfast/brunch place, but I'm sure there wouldn't be enough business to support one.
