The Week Ahead: 5 Things to Know
A heads up for those who live or work in Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, Villanova and Rosemont.
1. The Bryn Mawr Civic Association holds its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Bryn Mawr Community Center. Topics to be discussed include Ludington Library, the Bryn Mawr 100 and billboards. The civic does not hold meetings in July or August.
2. There will be lane closures Monday on the westbound Schuylkill Expressway between City Avenue and King of Prussia, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as bridges are cleaned, according to PennDOT. Tuesday through Thursday lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., also for bridge cleaning, will affect eastbound traffic between King of Prussia and City Avenue.
3. Harcum College is holding an open house on Tuesday for prospective students and their families.
4. Riverbend Environmental Education Center's Summer Solstice celebration will be held at 6 p.m. Friday. The event includes stream and pond exploration, a bee keeping demonstration, hikes, arts and crafts, a Lenape program, live music and refreshments.
5. A performance of Aida, at the open-air Opera Festival St. Margarethen in Austria, will be recorded live in HD and simulcast at 1 p.m. Monday at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute. See here for more upcoming events at the film institute.
