The Rosemont College cross country team, in its second year, is holding a race fundraiser this weekend for much-needed gear and travel expenses.

The race will be at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 1 at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, which is located at 352 S. Gulph Road in King of Prussia. Runners are asked to arrive at 8:30 a.m.

Head Coach Patrick Hager said this is the first time they've done a a race event to raise money for the team. In the past, they did a buffet dinner fundraiser, he said.

Proceeds will go to buy the team uniforms, shoes and watches, as well as travel expenses.

Entry is $20, though Hager said they would accept lesser entry donations.

"We're really, really excited about it," Hager said. "Hopefully it's something we can keep doing."
