Harcum Named Nonprofit of Year by MLCC
The college will be honored at a June 27 luncheon.
Harcum College will be honored by the Main Line Chamber of Commerce as its 2012 Nonprofit Business of the Year.
The Main Line Chamber will present the awards at the Chamber’s “A Celebration of Business Leadership” luncheon at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern on June 27, according to a Harcum press release.
Award criteria included:
- Growth and expansion of business
- Innovative approaches to services
- Involvement in the community
- Professional associations
- Local, state, professional, trade recognition
Enrollment at Harcum has increased more than 70 percent in the past 5 years to current record-high enrollment of 1,500 students.
“It is particularly gratifying that Harcum has received this recognition from the Main Line Chamber, whose members help define the quality of life for residents and the healthy climate for business in its service area,” Harcum President Jon Jay DeTemple said in the press release. “Harcum has been a Chamber member for many decades, and through this award, we are proud to represent all the area’s nonprofits, educational and otherwise, who contribute to the Main Line community and the region.”
