Grab & Go Kids Planner: Leprechaun Hunts, Nature Treks and Movies

Go see the classic "The Wizard of Oz" or go on a scavenger hunt for leprechauns in Narberth.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the information on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Here's an array of events that are good bets for the family this week:


Where/when: Bryn Mawr Film Institute, 11 a.m. Saturday
Why go: Family matinee series continues with a showing of the Wizard of Oz
Cost: Adults $5, kids $4


Where/when: Downtown Narberth, 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday
Why go:  This free family event is a scavenger hunt, where kids search all over town to find nine leprechauns.
Cost: Free


Where/when: 400 Mary Waters Ford Road, Belmont Hills, 10:30 a.m. to noon Sunday
Why go: During the hike, the group will explore their natural surroundings. For children ages 5 to 8. Parents are welcome to drop off their child or stay and observe the program. Registration required.
Cost: Township residents $15, non-residents $20


Where/when: Handwork Studio 35 N Narberth Ave, Narberth, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday
Why go: Children are encouraged to explore their creativity in this small workshop. Each project is designed to be easy to accomplish and build confidence. Registration required.
Cost: $40


Where/when: Bethany Collegiate Presbyterian Church, Township Line Road and Concord Avenue, Havertown, 7:30 p.m. Monday
Why go: Come show off your stuff and work off the weekend in open-to-all-ages volleyball games.
Cost: Free
