Where/When: Villanova Theatre, Vasey Hall, Lancaster and Ithan Avenues. Feb. 9 to 20; 8 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday
Why Go: It’s an updated version of Chekhov’s classic being performed right next door. It’s got comedy, heartbreak and sexuality, says our reporter who went on opening night.

Where/When: Bryn Mawr College, McPherson Auditorium, Goodhart Hall. Friday, Feb. 11 and Saturday, Feb. 12, 8 to 10 p.m.
Why Go: Bryn Mawr College is one of hundreds of colleges that participate in similar annual performances. It raises awareness of violence against women, and ticket sales benefit Laurel House, which is a shelter for domestic violence victims.
Pricing: $8 for general public; $5 for Bryn Mawr College, Haverford College and Swarthmore students
4. HARRITON RAMS PLAY STRATH HAVEN
Where/When: Harriton High School gym. Thursday, Feb. 10, 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: It’s the team’s last regular-season game before they get to compete in the PIAA District 1 Class AAA playoffs.
Where/When: Bryn Mawr Film Institute. Sunday, Feb. 13, 11 a.m.
Why Go: It’s BMFI’s one ballet performance of the month, and this is the second and last time it’s being shown. It’s simulcast live from the Palais Garnier in Paris. It’s danced to Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and explores the pathos of Rome’s most notorious emperor.
Pricing: $20 general admission, $18 for BMFI members, $10 for students
