Check out these picks for weekend things to do around the Bryn Mawr-Gladwyne Patch area.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

Find out what's happening in Bryn Mawr-Gladwynewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/When: Bryn Mawr Film Institute, Friday at 4, 7 and 9:40 p.m.; Saturday at 1:30, 4, 7 and 9:40 p.m.; Sunday at 1:30, 4 and 7 p.m.

Why Go: Starting Friday, Feb. 4, it’s replacing Black Swan, which hopefully you also got a chance to see while it was playing at BMFI. Both Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling had been nominated for Golden Globes for their performances in this film about a young couple’s marriage, and Williams is up for an Academy Award for best actress.

2. GIRL SCOUT DAY AT VILLANOVA (http://ev8.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=WBB&linkID=villanova&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode)

Where/When: The Pavilion, 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6

Why Go: ‘Nova’s women’s basketball team is hosting Girl Scouts for an annual event at this weekend’s game against Louisville. Scouts will be able to join the Villanova Twirling and Dance squads from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the game, will earn a Villanova Basketball Girl Scout patch and will be eligible for giveaways.

Pricing: $3 if you use the code “GIRLSCOUT,” but you have to buy your tickets by Feb. 5

3. FLIP AND BAILEY’S 7TH ANNUAL SUPER BOWL PARTY (http://flipandbaileys.com/)

Where/When: Flip & Bailey’s Bar and Grill in Rosemont, 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6

Why Go: It’s Super Bowl XLV. It’d be a lot more fun if the Eagles were in it, but we can at least squeeze in our last bit of football before pitchers and catchers report in less than two weeks. Even if football’s not really your thing, you can at least enjoy the commercials, food and drink.

Pricing: $35 includes open bar (that ends at the end of the game) and a buffet; tickets are limited

4. EMILY YANEK WITH SARAH BLOOM (http://www.milkboycoffee.com/events/view_entry.php?id=1847&date=20110204)

Where/When: Milkboy Coffee in Bryn Mawr, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4

Why Go: Because why not check out some nice, acoustic music locally?

Pricing: Free

5. HARRITON RAMS PLAY CONESTOGA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (http://www.ramshoops.com/)

Where/When: Conestoga Senior High School, 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5

Why Go: The Rams snapped their losing skid against Penncrest last week, then lost their next game to undefeated Upper Darby. Go support your team at its next away game.
