Why go: Celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday in this event filled with stories, games, arts and crafts (among other things) aimed at kids aged 6 to 10. Kids can also submit book reviews to publish on Borders.com.

2. INSIDE THE CHARACTERS DISCUSSION: THE KING'S SPEECH

Where/When: , 824 W. Lancaster Ave., 6 p.m. Sunday, March 6

Why go: Go see the Academy Award-winning best picture film (which starts at 4 p.m.), and then talk about it in a discussion led by staff from the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia.

3. JIM MOORE AND THE RAIL RIDERS W/ TERRY RIVEL

Why go: This Americana/country/roots band is from nearby Phoenixville, and it's been described as "a cross between Johnny Cash, early Bob Dylan and Hank Williams," according to its Myspace page.

4. WHITE TAILS ALL AROUND

Where/When: Riverbend Environmental Education Center, 1950 Spring Mill Road, Gladwyne; 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 5

Why go: Learn about white-tailed deer, and then go on a hike to see if you can spot them or signs they've been in the area.

5. FIRST FRIDAY MAIN LINE

When/Where: Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Ardmore, Friday, March 4

Why go: Stay local on the Main Line with music and art. There will be live music all around Ardmore.
