Toward the end of Tuesday night's debate, moderator Candy Crowley stepped in to fact check Gov. Mitt Romney over a point on the Libya Embassy attack in favor of President Barack Obama.
People on Twitter were split over whether that was the right thing to do. What do you think? Share your opinion in the comments below.
Thanks. We'll email you the next time we update this story.

Since presidential debates are to debating what pro wrestling is to wrestling, I'll agree. Everything goes, anyway. If we actually ran these like academic debates, only serious, thoughtful people would watch and what fun is that?
More seriously: how is the moderator going to be considered the accurate source?

Crowley made it clear: she's on Team Obama! No subtle bias, Romney was set up. BHO's manipulated his supporter's envy by targeting Romney's success, which was expected. An altogether brilliant glimpse into what's become of America's journalists.

Candy Crowley is so liberal that her moderating a debate is ridiculous. Talk about prejudicial. She also mispronounced Romney's name, really flubbed it, early in the debate. How hard is it to pronounce the name "Romney" correctly? I never heard of her before this, and hope to never hear of her again!!!

The moderator should be able to clarify a point to move the dialogue along if one of the candidates is using the questioning of said point as a way of stalling the dialogue. It was Romney's misstep to pursue the veracity of the president's statement on Lybia when he wasn't completely sure of the statement the president was referencing. It exposed a weakness in his argument against the president when he was leading on that subject prior.

Here is the quote from the President's speech in the rose garden. "No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation". So Romney's attack on the President's words at the debate was wrong. Crowley was correct. When are you going to apologize to her?

Never because she was wrong. Obama referred to the youtube video at the UN weeks after. Still blaming the youtube video as a reason for the "unrest" Just because Obama added that little tag line does not change the facts of what his ambassador did on five talk shows, his SecState reiterated a few days later, and what he did at the UN a few days later. This guy simply does not want an American killed on on 9/11 in his campaign. He has a scandal on his hands, some kind of ???-gate. This will come out in the next foreign policy debate. Because the press will not cover another (fast and furious too) scandal. People died...Obama lied.

First of all, Crowley did NOT "backtrack" in the least. She explained what happened, explained how the President did, indeed, refer to the incident as an "act of terror" the day after. And the fact is that we are still uncovering details of exactly what happened - the most detailed account yet was published yesterday, and it actually confirmed that the attack WAS sparked by the Mohammed video on Youtube. Romney looked like an ass last night, like a deer in the headlights because he went off half-cocked and tried to make political points on a tragic event that nobody should try to leverage that way.

-----------------------------------------
Using the word "terror" once in a speech, but never saying that the consulate attack was planned terrorism... how is this anywhere near a refutation of what Romney said? While for two weeks the fiction of a video inspired demonstration is said to be the cause and promoted by the administration - When will some journalist insist on how this could be when there was absolutely NO indication of ANY protest before the attack started?

Is it appropriate for the public to know the facts over the pitched spin?
Is it appropriate for the public to be aware of what is happening?
Is it appropriate for the public not to be sheep shepherded by divisive parties?
Is it appropriate for America to be working for the divide - not the unite?
Facts matter. Standing for something and sticking with it matters. We should vote for someone and something - NOT just against someone. We should vote on facts and not on spin. But the spin political game wins too often - and as seen on this and other blogs and on cable spin we now choose our own facts so the truth is lost with everyone claiming "facts" that are completely opposite from others which is why our United America is SO lost. The answer is not in Biden or Romney or Obama or Ryan or all the other obstructionist that fill our government. It is in WE changing the process to work for ONE nation. Welcome to the Divided State of America.

If you watched the debate, she first corrected Romney - who had claimed that the President did not call the attack "terrorism" - by agreeing with Obama that he had, indeed, referred to the attack as an "act of terror" the next day. And then she went on to say that there had been confusing reports of this protest over the Youtube clip which continued until the State Dept. reported that there had been no protest, and she told Romney that he was right on that part of it. But that part of it means virtually nothing - so what if there was no protest demonstration? It takes time to sort out the circumstances when you have an incident like this in a 3rd world, desert outpost. The main thing here is that Candy Crowley did NOT backtrack or take back anything she said in last night's debate. Because she was right. And so was President Obama.

Romney was grandstanding, he was breaking the pre-agreed upon rules of the Town Hall and he was wrong. All of which made Crowley's fact check the right move - and no matter how many times the Romney crowd claims it wasn't true, it was absolultely, positively a fact. The day after the attack, the President called it an "act of terror." It just doesn't get any clearer than that.

I believe she somewhat corrected herself after the debate.
It seems like neither Romney nor Obama was 100% correct.
Obama did say we don't stand for acts of terror the day after, but didn't directly label this terror then went on to say 100 times it was because of this video.
I do feel there was a push to condemn the video for 2 weeks rather then label it an all out terror attack using mortars.
When Ann Curry from NBC asked the president of Libya repeatedly why he thought this was terror over the video, it was clear to me there was a push in the media to underplay this situation.
ron

Romney was correct Obama never called this specific event an act of terrorism. What he said was that we would not tolerate acts of terror in general. Obama kept saying this specific event was a demenstration due to the video, now he's trying to cover his ass, but it's to late. Bottom line Obama = lack of leadership. Notice how Obama wanted no part of explaining fast and furious and the innocent lives lost. Four years of nothing is long enough it's time for him to go.

Baloney...or borrowing from Joe Biden, malarkey. The President doesn't just throw around a term like "act of terror" on a whim. His address in the Rose Garden specifically referred to the killing of our four Americans that way.

Bruce, if he knew it was an act of terror, which he didn't really say but you believe he did, they why for 2 weeks did he have his people say it was because of the video, and he himself at the UN said it was because of the video. He was either lying for 2 weeks or he jumped to conclusions just as he his accusing Romney of before all the facts were out. He and his team clearly tried to cover this up. He has no business being in that position, he wasn't qualified 4 years ago and he is still not qualified
Bruce Bailey

Ordinarily, there would be no rush or pressure to make pubic the exact circumstances of the attack, but remember - Mitt Romney had politicized this event before we even knew the extend of the damage and that four Americans had been killed. Because Romney pushed this horrible attack into a political blame game, the Adminstration was forced to answer questions it no definite answers for. The most recent and most in-depth reports reveal that the video actually WAS to blame for the attack, even though there was no protest demonstration. And in the end, what does it really matter whether or not there was a protest? What matters is that the US is working to find the people who did this and bring them to justice - and after Obama's success against Bin Laden and dozens of other al-Qaeda leaders, I'm willing to trust that we will do just that.

If you actually read the transcript of the President's remarks on 09/12/2012, the paragraph preceding the 'terror' remark was a reference to 09/11/2001, not the murders of the four men in Libya. Five days after that, the Administration sent out a rep to five shows who when asked if it was an act of terror, the so-called video story was repeated. If after one day, let alone five days, the White House and staff still did mot know it was a terrorist act, then the security of our Country and citizens are all in trouble.
The President made comments last night about this one or that one "works for me", when in fact, they work for us, including him. That is one of his mistakes, he feels he is superior and his arrogance will be his undoing eventually.

The problem is that no matter what Obama said once, both he and his administration said consistently over the next two or three weeks that the embassy killings weren't terrorism and were the result of a protest over the movie clip that got out of control. They surely didn;t know that and were specualting, and have since been found out to be wrong.
Bruce Bailey

And according to the latest and most detailed reporting on the attack which appeared yesterday, it WAS sparked by the movie clip. The only detail that was originally reported and turned out to be wrong was that there was a protest demonstration. There was no protest...but so what? It's not like this happened in some high-tech, urban area - it was a third world outpost in the middle of the desert; firm details take awhile to piece together. I'd expect somebody who wants to be President to understand that and not try to score cheap political points using the deaths of brave Americans.

I think the GOP is over-playing the President's reaction to the attack in Lybia. I think it was entirely appropriate to down-play the attack until more information was known. The facts didn't fit with their al Queda has been decimated and is no longer a threat narrative, so they lied for to weeks, saying it was a "demonstration over the video that escalated spontaneously" and that they "had no evidence that it was a pre-planned attack." Amen Amend! To Candy Crowely's credit she correctly and rightfully redirected the debate. She also clarified her statement regarding what President Obama said in the Rose Garden during the debate. Le Sheppard, in an earlier comment, has nailed it; don't look for your elected leaders to decide for us......me, you, and we need to direct our leaders. On that note, in terms of energy demand, not enough is being done by either you or I on addressing our energy use, implementing effecient technologies, avoiding further exponentially expensive and permanently damaging methods of extracting fossil energy stores. The American lives sacrificed in the Iraq War was about one thing...OIL. Remember that, please, next time you pull up to the pump. We have become a nation of mindless consumers and politicians are playing to it. Really people...wake up and stop thinking one of these two candidates has the effective economic answers and is going to get you a job next week, or bring oil prices down. All of us collectively drive this nations economy, if you don't like the China situation, stop buying their stuff - it's just stuff. Every fiber in Romney is working for the upper 1%, and they only give a shit about one thing...the bottom line. What is Romney going to do for you? He'll have you build that stage, then fire you after he has your vote. The Administration surely knew within those five days that it was an act of terrorism and their blatant misleading of the American public is shameful.

Guys, it's all about political agendas and masking the true reasons we as a nation are targets. These trivial details mask the root of all these issues. Our failed foreign policy. Arm twisting and intervention has unintended consequences, or blowback. This blowback is a common feature of most if not all federal policies. In the case of our security at home, we are the authors of these attacks. Why would a person suspect otherwise? As the most ruthless terrorist on the planet, why do we expect to not be terrorized in return? All the warfare-welfare state can do is to print more money to fund this illegal, immoral, unconstitutional activitity and use war propaganda, wrapped in the flag, to deceive the masses. For sixty years it's worked. Most voters continue to be duped, however, for a growing minority, the sad and pathetic lies are recognized.

Obama most definitely won! He spoke about his many achievements in contrast to Romney’s sketchy and often disproven plans. And, Romney was way too aggressive, rude and broke the debate rules by asking questions directly of the President. Romney also demonstrated his interest in making political gains over the Libya incident, something he’s been doing since that incident was first learned of, and he avoided answering the “equal pay for equal work by women” question because he opposes equal pay. Romney wants to take women back to the 1960s, based on his plan to end Planned Parenthood and other backward aims.
Most media outlets and polls agree, Obama won.

It may not be required by law, but he should do what every other candidate -- including his own father -- does routinely.
From Look Magazine, December 1967, an article about George Romney:
"'He balked when I badgered him for a copy of his latest Form 1040, the Federal Individual Income Tax Return,' Harris wrote. “Release of the document, while it might serve a political purpose, would not prove very much, he argued. One year could be a fluke, perhaps done for show, and what mattered in personal finance was how a man conducted himself over the long haul.” …
“Stumped by this argument, I was not prepared for the move that it eventually led him to make: He ordered up all the Form 1040′s that he and Mrs. Romney had filed over the past twelve years — including those profitable ones from when he saved the American Motors Company from bankruptcy and became a millionaire on the company’s stock options.”

Take from it what you will, as there were a number of misinterpretations, lies, misleadings.....but the Moderator is not there to support one of the candidates. In this case, she couldnt help herself in supporting Obama, so she stuck her chubby little hoof in her mouth. Overall, I dont think she did a good job 'Moderating', as both candidates continued to exceed their time, and allowing one to step on another. Lastly, my greater concern was the selection by Candy of questions. 2 about women, 1 about education, 1 about "I voted for you before, why should I vote for you again (plant)", 1 about foreign policy (Chubby's support), 1 from a hispanic about border patrol, 1 about taxes, 1 what makes you different from Prez Bush (why did Obama even get a chance to speak on this?), 1, what is it about you that we dont know....are we looking for a date, or a President? Nothing directly about economy, national security, debt, healthcare.....hmmm, who picked these? Bring your dizzy medicine next Monday, as the Prez tries spinning foreign policy....look for something to be released late Sunday night again about Beghazi.....maybe Bill Clinton will take responsibility?

@reaganite- regarding President Bush, I never blamed him for the September 11th attacks. If people are really intent on harming Americans, no amount of security will keep that from happening. John Hinkley showed us just how easy it is for a singular person to attempt to kill a standing president, nevermind what a well organized terrorist group is capable of. As for hypocrisy, and again since you brought up President Bush, if you're looking to criticize those responsible for the loss of American lives, then Bush owns the casualties from the war in Iraq. That I do blame him for as the reasons for that war was a complete farce. Yet, somehow that's less of an issue for conservatives.

Um theres a Reason why Obama didnt jump the gun and offically claim it a terroristic threat. What if he was wrong!! That would have affected the election more severely. He mentioned it and was smart about it. If he would have jumped the gun and started spending money on defense yall Romney fans would have criticized him as well. Romney is a jackass CEO who I wouldnt want to be my Boss nor run this country. He would run it like a bank, fees fees fees vouchers fees. Rich people will keep us in the middle class suck like another form of slavery. I dare you to give a rich person 10% of your money...Ask yourself what will he do with it? Make more jobs? Hell no. Look at the billionaires right now, they are threatening their employees because they can afford to kill jobs.

Carlito, you bring up some great points. Just a few questions. How many rich people went bakrupt under the Obama regime? How many MORE middle class people are struggling after 4 years of Obama? If Romney is such a "jackass CEO", how come he has more money than me, you and your entire family times 10? Rather than tell everyone what Romney will do (like Hussein did all last night), try listening to his message. It is easy for somebody on a stage to say "that wont work", but its a hell of a lot easier to actually SEE, by opening your eyes and ears, and hear the challenges Americans are facing under Obama. He has had 4 years of DICTATING to us his policy....and is it helping the middle class? It hasnt helped me, and I make well under $200,000/year. TAx break? I dint see any tax break. Point is, Obama SPEAKS a good game.....Fact is, WHAT HAS HE DONE to help the middle class? NOTHING! As for Foreign policy, it took Obama 2 weeks to recognize publicly it was a terroristic event, yet last night he claimed he knew it the next day. Stop getting "jerked around"....start LOOKING and LISTENING to the American Middle Class.....its worse, not better!
Finally, do you really care what what a billionaire makes or pays in taxes, or are you more concerned for your job security, ability to feed your family and how you can provide for your family. Billionaires have been skirting taxes for longer than I have been alive, and will continue to do so because they make the rules!

@Reganite- Bush was warned of the imminent threat from Osama Bin Laden when he entered office. He chose to not take that threat as credible even tho Bin Laden was suspected of initiating the initial attack on the world trade towers. Even in the face if those facts, I don't blame him for what happen on the 11th, anymore than I blame Obama for Bengazi. I blame those who perpetrated those acts. And there is no comparison in the casualty count between the two presidents. As long as we have american personal imbedded in political hotspots, we risk causalities no matter who the president is, but that's a far cry from having a president enter into a conflict on a false premise that costs thousands of American lives.

The Iraq War is on Bush's watch and a seperate issue from what is happening in Libya, Syria, Egypt, etc. More correctly the Iraq War is on our watch...no shoving a President in the line of fire for trying to keep up with the US's oil demand. Even if he saw fit to exaggerate the need for military intervention on a trumped up weapons of mass destruction scare. At the end of the day, it was you and I who made that war a necessary evil. As for Libya, Syria, Egypt, etc, we as a nation have decided it is important to have a diplomatic presence in these countries. Our diplomates accept risk when they take on these assignments, no one, not even the President, can quarantee a diplomates safety. Embassy security decisions are made locally, nobody calls Washington unless there is information in advance. Making this an election issue is useless and absurd. Do you have any suggestions on how Libya, Syria, Egypt, or Iran should be handled by the US?
John
11:54 am on Wednesday, October 17, 2012
co2....agreed, it is not an election issue, but national security and foreign policy are most definitely election issues. How one is judged should not be placed equally by words versus actions. Obama initially could have said we are awaiting details....no apology, no need to make a video....just get the facts. WHat severly hurt him were his actions, PERIOD. He had an international issue that should have been priority 1, and he went to Vegas, Jay Z and Letterman. I am certain he had hourly updates....but when your Commanbder in Chief is politicking and socializing (with those greedy 1%ers he is always waiving his finger at), then as an American, I become concerned, thereby making it political. If Benghazi occured last year, or 2009, no issue. But in the middle of the largest watched political campaign known to mankind, you expect a little more than what he offered. I hope this "intelligence community" that he blames (or at least did at 1 time) will give us better than 2 week notice when Iran goes nuclear!

In terms of Candy Crowley's moderator tactics: I think she did a capable job but her political leanings did show from time to time.
Her mid-response fact check was fair (she's there to pose follow-up questions and in this case it worked well) and accurate. Here's the transcript from that speech:
"Yesterday, four of these extraordinary Americans were killed in an attack on our diplomatic post in Benghazi. Among those killed was our Ambassador Chris Stevens, as well as his Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith." ...and later he says...
"Our country is only as strong as the character of our people and the service of those, both civilian and military, who represent us around the globe. No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for."
I guess Romney is just lucky he didn't ask Obama to bet $10,000 on it like he did Rick Perry in the primary debates.
Romney came out looking bad on this item because it shows how intent his is on believing his version of the facts and not the truth of what was said. I applaud President Obama for calling him out on politicizing the deaths in Libya.

Marc.....Classic .....you are classic.....ya know when your side complains about "CONTEXT"? If you actually copied the ENTIRE speech, (as we are finding out that is exactly what it was, yet another speech), you will see that Obama spoke of the 9/11 attacks and the "incident". Cover all you want, he by no means the day after the TERRORISTIC ATTACK called it a terroristic attack...thats why it was impossible to go on Letterman and the View and call it a TERRORISTIC ATTACK......especially when his UN girl spent all day the following Sunday calling it a protest....and then he went to the UN and referred to a video.....so, c'mon Marc, protecting the President is patriotic, there wasnt anyone from the White House or the Obama administration who said terroristic attack until the guy who testified before congress! If your reading comprehension isn't strong enough to discern that from what I posted I can't really do anything else for you, John.
Both sides tell half-truths and twist words to benefit their side. What I've seen so far is that Romney's side has told far more lies and given way fewer details on the numbers he's touting as fact.
I watched the post debate coverage of Fox News of the supposedly "independent" focus group. It was like watching one of those Ron Popeil infomercials for the Magic Bullet blender. co2,
We can banter back and forth @ 9/11, you blaming Bush, and I blaming Clinton for having zero foreign policy for 8 years, by reducing our military by 50%. But the issue you raise, which I believe to be valid is Romney's foreign policy experience. I dont think you will argue with the fact that Romney has a considerably stronger understanding of economy over Obama. Look what Obama has done with the US economy, since 2009? Destroyed it! Aa far as your concerns regarding foreign policy, your concerns mimic my concerns in 2008 with ANY experience with Obama....I mean what exactly has the man ever successfully done in his entire life with regardto running a business, a country or a lemonade stand for that matter? We give him the keys to running the most powerful country in the world. Oh then Dems place a checkstrap on him, naming every Clinton cabinet member to keep the 'new kid' in line. What does Obama do? He begins believing his own press clippings - A Nobel Peace Prize 3 months out of the gate??? SERIOUSLY!? Point is this guy has no experience in anything, and has proven it by his selections of associates, his circumvention of the Constitution, his COMPLETE lack of control of his people (Way to long to list here). Bottom line, does Romney have years of foreign policy? No, but he has about as much as Obama did when he took office. Thats why I am focussing on domestic strength, hoping Romney will make smart selections regarding his cabinet. He, after all is a CEO

Blaming the moderator seems to the the latest Republican tactic. When Obama came out soft in the first debate, I didn't hear anyone complaining about the male moderator. Most agreed Obama lost and needed to show more. Yet when Biden destroyed Ryan last week and Obama easily beat Romney last night, the female moderators are being attacked for "fact checking" and asking follow up questions. Hmm.... Its an argument over symantecs. Obama said we will never tolerate acts of terror, yet he failed to call the Benghazi attack a terrorist attack for over two more weeks. He did however lay the blame for the attack on a spontaneous event because people were mad about a video, which the president KNEW AT THAT POINT WAS AN OUTRIGHT LIE. The bottom line is this...they have been back tracking on this for weeks now. Its obvious they knew is was not caused by a video but instead, a coordinated attack. Yet Obama was standing up at the UN two weeks later blaming a video. That point cannot be argued.

Because Joe Biden says "trust me...Iran is not close to having a nuke"? So we should trust them on that, even though they apparently couldn't even get the Intel on Benghazi right? Or did they have it right and just lie to the nation? Either way...its disturbing and shines a light on the ineptitude of this administration. Don't even get me started on the Fast and the furious cover up!

ohhhhh fox news.....you never disappoint....once again the bias is comical. After the 1st debate, Obama got bashed from every which way, EVERY news channel said Obama lost the first debate. Ohhhh....not Foxnews after last night.....Obama beat up Mitt last night and called Mitt out on all his flips flops and lies...which he cannot run from....Mit was against guns, Mitt was pro abortion, Mitt was for national healthcare, etc....Fox cannot say one negative thing about Mitt. Good ol' fair and balanced....hahaha

Reading comments from my fellow Patch users is so depressing - to think that my neighbors are so filled with vitriol and hatred for those that lean just slightly to the left of Rush Limbaugh...
I lived in Springfield until I was 10 and was devestated when my parents uprooted me that when it came time to buy my own house, Springfield was the first place I looked. I was proud to return home to the same neighborhood and neighbors that I left as a child. Patch's comment section makes me feel like I made a grave mistake.

So, my right leaning friends, let me get this straight. Every news organization, nation as well as world-wide, is engaged in some sort of conspiracy to report the news with a liberal bias, and only Fox News is the shining example of 'fair and balanced' reporting? Riiiiiight. Methinks ya'll need to read up on the topic of 'cognitive dissonance'

Yes. The media is biased. Now a scientific fact. Oh and you'll love this: Fox actually did shake out as the most fair and balanced.

Every news agency is slanted...Fox goes conservative far right. CNN is slightly left of center and MSNBC is way liberal left. The only thing I will say is that at least Fox always has someone on from the opposing side. Generally, I flip back and firth between all three channels and usually an amalgamation of all three usually gives me the real story...but all of them are skewed. It just happens to be that there are more liberal leaning networks than conservative. That being said, none of them are fair or balanced.

Its really quite simple...and the name calling trash that goes on this site is indicative of the great divide in this country. If you feel that Obama has us on the right track and you think his next four years will be better than the last four, then vote for him. If you think the country has faltered on his watch and the next four years will be more of the same, then vote for Romney. If Romney wins and the country doesn't improve, then hold him accountable in four years. Remember the buck does stop with the president. Obama made a lot of promises that have not been kept or fulfilled. People legitimately have a reason to be upset.

Me personally, I would rather turn the keys to the economy over to a guy with a business acumen, who has a proven track record of economic success and who spent half his life dealing with economics. The other guy spent half his life as a community organizer, and while that is civic minded and admirable, it did not prepare him to deal with the biggest financial meltdown in several generations.

If you'd like to get a feel for just how badly the administration is lying to us read it. There was NO protest before the attack which the state department official described as having "The lethality and the number of armed people is unprecedented". The facts as to what happened had nothing to do with a protest over a video - that was a distraction inserted later by people with a political agenda. For the first two weeks after the attack the administration led everyone to believe something other than the truth, hoping it would go away.

They are not smart enough to see past "the enemy" mentality and they cannot seem to grasp the meaning of Separation of Church and State'. Get over it crybabies, your guy lost because he didn't think anyone would correct him until it was too late just liek the first debate.

Amazing, that nasty Candy Crowley, how dare she try to make sure her audience knows the truth. It has been so long since I have actually head a journalist actually discuss the facts that I was outraged to hear actual facts. I mean...look at Romney and Ryan, they have no problem making things up as they go and ignoring the facts even though they are recorded and on video. Thank God most of the country pays no attention to the lies. After all, I am much more concerned about how my candidate looks and sounds, I could care less if they are telling the truth. Truth is just a trivial detail! Romney, is my guy and the biggest bonus is that he wears "magic panties". I would be much happier with a president (boss) who will take money from the middle class to make sure he and his lovely rich buddies can keep us working people in our place. Oh...and the lovely Stepford Wife Ann....what American woman couldn't identify with her. What a hectic life! Staying home, stressing out over how to avoid paying taxes so there will be more inheritance to divide amongst the children. I think it is just lovely that we keep voting in legislators who make it legal for Romney (who is unemployed) to pay 14% in taxes while my husband and I work 70 hour weeks, make less than 150K and pay a 30% tax rate. Yup, I am all about those tea party republicans and Boss Romney. Heavy Sigh.....If only I, could be the stick up his a** to replace his spine..

Becky,
Candy Crowley made sure her audience knew her truth…because after the debate she was interviewed and changed her comment. She discussed the facts as she wanted them to be…so bias and one sided. You are one of the many that ignores the lies and then spreads the crap along. No one has told more lies to this nation then Obama unless you consider all the broken promises not lies. You say Ann is staying at home figuring out how to not pay taxes, while Mrs. Obama, her kids and her friends are off vacationing all around the world on our tax dollars…. How did you like all those vacations you paid for last year???? Did you have a good time??? Was it worth all your hard earned money for the Obama family and friends to travel first class???? As for Romney not working…..tell us one job that Obama had that was not paid by tax dollars??? Before you can be the stick up Romney’s a** you need to get your head out of your own a**!!!!!

Becky......you make EXCELLENT POINTS! You and your husband work 70 hours/week, pay 30% taxes.....now here is the big question.....and WHO is the President? Because YOU and YOUR husband are PAYING 30% under OBAMA....and I am here to tell you with OBAMACARE, its going to get worse.....much worse!
Here is my point, take it for what it's worth.....OBAMA has done NOTHING to the wealthy, NOTHING. Biden was 1000% correct, the middle class has been getting HAMMERED thes elast 4 years.....know any millionaires who are no longer millionaires? Me niether. OBAMA tells you he is out to help you, but the only class that has done WORSE under OBAMA has been the middle class. Poor get free stuff, rich stay rich....middle class gets HAMMERED.
You epitomize what OBAMA is doing to the middle class, yet you still drink what he has been pouring since 2008.... is he REALLY helping you......according to you, NO....but beware the nasty Romney......look at the person in the mirror. Is she happy after 4 years of Obama and finger pointing? She doesnt sound happy!

John,
You are right….things over the past 4 years have been much worse for the middle class…while the poor have more programs to help them not need to work….free stuff…. Obamacare will hurt the middle class and small business more than anyone else…… My wife and I work more then one job to pay our bill, send our kids to school and are told that we don’t qualify for financial aide (for college), and even worse my son works part-time and is told he makes too much money for financial aide also. However, the public assistance people and illegal immigrants get all kinds of aide…. Obama MUST GO!!!!!!!

Mitt Romney is a wind-sock of a human being...he goes with whichever way today's Republican winds are blowing. No convictions, no integrity...Republicans pretend to be the party of fiscal responsibility but the deficit doubled under Reagan (look it up!), he raised taxes more than he cut them, Clinton not only balanced the budget but also reduced (that's right I said reduced) the deficit. Then GW Bush and the Republican Congress came in and the deficit nearly doubled again...before his spend but don't bother paying for it policies like tax cuts, off-budget wars, free prescription coverage, etc...put us right back in the hole again. Then he ruined the economy and gave us a giant recession...and NOW the Republicans are "all about reducing the debt"! Obama put the wars ON BUDGET but no Republican had the guts to do that!
If Romney wins I guarantee you will not hear a WORD about deficit reduction, only TAX REDUCTIONS and then only for the " job creators"...the same policy Bush put in place that was supposed to create jobs and failed! They won' t be able to blame the Democrats if the GOP wins this cycle.

Speaking of being a human wind-sock, let's check out The President's reaction to the Gay Marraige question. Never had a single word to say about it, because he KNEW much of his constituency (religious A-A and Hispanics) DID NOT SUPPORT the concept!
Then along comes Joe "Shoot-from-the-hip" Biden, who outs The President's position prematurely apparently. (My guess is The President didn't want to back out of the closet until AFTER November 6.)
Suddenly, The President's position on gay marriage is PUSHED out into the light of day ... and just DAYS before a planned Hollywood (hotbed of gay activism) fund raiser on George Clooney's tennis courts.
What's a President to do?!? Why, go along with the breeze (wind sock, remember?) and the campaign checking account, and viola'! The day before the Clooney fundraiser ... SUDDEN ENLIGHTENMENT!!
And who's a windsock?!?

i pay LOTS of taxes but don't cry about it, Or act selfishly even though I am doing well..you and your like still want to blame everything on the 47% less fortunate...those you seem to hold in contempt such as Service people and veterans, the elderly and the poor, etc...
I have always worked, I have never taken from the Government and always supported my family and unlike you ,,,"Kenya whatever your name is",...I also understand that we are ALL AMERICANS. We should be thankful for this country and do all we can to help those less fortunate.
That's the right thing to do (but the GOP now makes selfishness a virtue, it's in your platform, you should be ashamed of that but are proud of it instead!)
You probably call yourself a Christian too, huh??
Go read what Jesus said about how to treat the poor (he WAS ONE!)
But Christian or not...you are selfish and it obvious you think that's ok, Since you got yours...screw everyone else, right? You and your fellow Republicans should be ashamed of yourselves...but it seems you have no shame!

Open question to all. BEFORE Obama, did you care what your neighbor made for a salary? Did you care that rich people get tax breaks. My guess is you didnt care, because life was what it was. You can't change government, so you lived with it. NOW, the rich guy has become the BAD GUY, and you are going to slay those rich guys.....No you're not. Are you going to walk up to your boss and call him a rich, greedy 1%er.....no you are not!
The fact is we all like complaining and pointing fingers, but we all know deep inside that nomatter who the President is, the rich guy is going to get a break. Obama has done nothing but HURT the middle class. Know any rich guys that are no longer rich? Me neither!! So IF Obama is going to fix things, which he has NOT done thus far, WHEN is he going to go after the RICH GUY? Answer: NEVER!

Making the argument about rich and poor is false. This election is about wrong and right. There are ethical ways for business to profit, and unethical ways. What is happening in America is not that 1% of the population is rich, and 99% poor. It is that is was stolen, swindled, coerced, bribed, and extorted from the American people. How you acquired your riches will always matter. You can count on it. Whether you realize that here on planet earth, or when you begin pondering it after you wake up elsewhere. People, esp. the truly mighty, don't live on mountain tops for real reasons. They walk among the people at street level in the valley. There is water and life and community there.
Vote Libertarian for one election. Choose to live for something worth living for.
