Crust Neapolitan Pizzeria to Open Friday in Bryn Mawr

The pizzeria will feature thin-crust brick-oven pizza, inspired by Persian cuisine.

Bryn Mawr is getting a new pizza place—Crust Neopolitan Pizzeria—on Friday, featuring Mediterranean-inspired thin-crust pies.

Crust, at 872 W. Lancaster Ave., is owned and managed by the same team that owns , which is right next door to the new pizzeria.

The pizzas will feature Persian flavors similar to those at Mediterranean Grill, said manager Brandon Alidjani. For example, one pizza will be modeled after Mediterranean Grill’s Ghormeh Sabzi specialty dish, with such flavors as cilantro, scallions, dill and Persian lime.

“We’re not going to be somebody that throws a whole lot of cheese on one piece of pizza—there will be light flavors all around to create a taste,” Alidjani said.

The quality of the pizza is dependent on the crust, which is homemade in the thin Neapolitan style, Alidjani said.

In addition to gourmet brick-oven pizzas, there will also be salads and flatbread melts, he said.

The interior, which was converted from a carpet store, will have a rustic feel, with brick walls, a similar color scheme to the Mediterranean Grill (warm colors, like orange), and dimmed lighting.

They offer both dine-in and take-out options, and eventually will offer delivery. Crust is in the process of hiring delivery drivers, Alidjani said. Anyone interested should fill out an application in person at Mediterranean Grill or Crust.

Hours will be 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
