Bryn Mawr Ballgirl Returning to Phillies

Alicia Anglin, a Harriton graduate, will again be one of the on-field staff.

The Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday announced their roster of 17 ballgirls for the 2013 season, including second-year ballgirl Alicia Anglin, a Bryn Mawr resident.

Anglin attended The Baldwin School, Harriton High School and Neumann University; she is now a medical lab technologist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Patch interviewed Anglin last year when she was named to the ballgirl roster for the first time.

Nine area standouts have been added to the 2013 Phillies Ballgirls roster, a program presented by Macy’s.

The new Phillies Ballgirls were selected by the Phillies after an intense tryout process, which included testing the candidates’ softball skills, as well as interpersonal skills and baseball knowledge.

“We were so impressed by the candidates this year,” said Michele DeVicaris, Manager for the Phillies Ballgirls. “The women selected to be Phillies Ballgirls are terrific additions to the 2013 team, and will serve as tremendous role models both on and off the field.”

In addition, there will be eight returning ballgirls from the 2012 season. The entire squad will gather for the first time this Saturday, January 19, at Citizens Bank Park for their first photo shoot.
