5 Things To Know: Free-Parking Proposal and More

A heads up for those who live or work in Bryn Mawr, Gladwyne, Rosemont and Villanova.

1. If you have extra trash and debris as a result of Hurricane Sandy, Lower Merion Township will collect it for free on your regularly scheduled trash and recycling day this week, according to a township release.  To be collected, the release said, are "limbs and branches that have fallen from the trees—it does not need to be bundled, and branches can be of any length— but it does need to be curbside." Additionally, leaves must be placed in biodegradable leaf bags.

2. A land-development plan for a Bryn Mawr Film Institute expansion is up for discussion at Monday night's Planning Commission meeting. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the township administration building's second floor board room (75 E Lancaster Ave). View the agenda here.

3. Tuesday is Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and you can find your polling place here.

4. On Wednesday, Lower Merion commissioners will hear about the potential impact of a proposed "free Saturday parking" program in Lower Merion. The agenda also includes an update on Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the township administration building's second floor board room (75 E Lancaster Ave).

5. All Lower Merion School District schools resume classes Monday, now that Harriton High School has regained electricity after Hurricane Sandy. School will be closed Tuesday for Election Day, except at Harriton.

That's what the article said. There is no typo here. It's correct the first time in the article.
